NAFTA Superhighway to be Drug Running, Alien Smuggling Artery to America

(Washington) – August 18, 2008 - There is good news and bad news coming from the US-Mexican border. Recently, reports of Mexican soldiers holding an American border agent at gunpoint were certainly alarming, but there is more happening at our southern-most region than meets the public view. And most of it is illegal activity. On July 22, US border agents busted a Mexican tractor-trailer carrying about $7.7million worth of cocaine.  Another incident recorded a nearly 3/4 million dollar marijuana bust. Both incidents occurred near Laredo, Texas along I-35--which also is the corridor where the US government is proposing the NAFTA superhighway that connects the North American Union--Mexico, the US and Canada.

The bad news is that drug smuggling and illegals are crossing America's borders everyday. And while honorable and hard working border agents are trying to police this illegal activity, the Federal government under the Security and Prosperity Partnership, is trying to open it up. In fact, it is the Bush Administration's policy to allow Mexican trucks lenient access to American highways. On Friday, August 1st, the House Transportation Committee unanimously approved by voice vote a bill to end the ill-advised Mexican truck policy. Democrats are against this policy because the Teamster's Union is opposing it. Republicans are against it because they want America's borders to be secure.

Meanwhile, liberal religious organizations have weighed in on the border problems with illegal aliens. They say the Bible says to treat strangers with love. There are over 120 mentions of how to deal with “strangers”, also interpreted as “aliens,” in the Bible.  Using quotes from the Bible, naïve evangelical Christians are buying into the dogma that illegal immigration and cultural diversity is Biblical.  They quote verses like Leviticus 19:34, “But the stranger that dwells with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself.”  But they conveniently ignore that the Lord, in instructing how to treat aliens in the Bible, repeatedly commands that the aliens embrace and live by the laws of nation.

Exodus 12:49 says, “One law shall be to him that is home born, and unto the alien that sojourns among you.”  Leviticus 19:26 says, “You shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any alien that sojourns among you.”  Leviticus 24:22 says, “You shall have one manner of law, as well for the alien, as for one of your own country:  For I am the Lord your God.”  There are many more such references.  America has many enemies who intend to destroy her.  And they will use every means to dilute and weaken the U.S. while the sword of colonization patiently awaits the soft underbelly of its target.
